Oak Framed Office, Woodham Mortimer

“I asked DH Heritage to build a new home office and garden room, using an oak framed and pegged design. The office was completed on budget and the standard of workmanship and attention to detail is excellent, we are very pleased with everything. We chose reclaimed flooring and roofing and this in itself can present a challenge over modern materials.

Our house is grade 2 listed and the building had to pass listed building consent, and both the conservation officer and building control are both very pleased with the design and finished building.

This customer lives in a grade 2 listed barn conversion and required an office to be constructed within the grounds that would compliment his private dwelling.

Architects were instructed to design something that would fit in with the look of the grade 2 listed building. An oak framed structure was agreed upon which was then insulated and clad. Electric floors were installed on traditional brick stone. Most of the building was glazed to provide a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.
